New colleague and trainee at NorCore
We are happy to welcome two new additions to the team at NorCore this spring. Siri H. Hollekim Haaland joins us for a month-long secondment from the Research Council of Norway, and Torkil Eldegard Heie joins as our new trainee.

Siri works as a special adviser at the Research Council of Norway, with a special focus on the labour and welfare research areas. “I work on a national level, and I want to learn more about how we can strengthen the synergies and interplay between national funding and funding through Horizon Europe. I am also very interested in the discourse around competitiveness as well as the tensions and opportunities that exist between competitiveness and many of the research themes I work with. This includes topics such as the role of the education system, the labour market and civil society, preventing outsiderness, strengthening societal inclusion and participation, and matters of societal trust and legitimacy.”
Siri will spend the month of February at the NORCORE offices in Brussels.
Our new trainee Torkil holds bachelor's degrees in political science and history from NTNU. He is currently enrolled as a master's student in international relations at NMBU, and has previously interned at the Norwegian Embassy in Stockholm. "Working for NorCore is an opportunity to learn more about the EU system and international relations. Research, education, and innovation are increasingly important topics for Norway's cooperation with the EU, and are highly relevant in a rapidly changing world."
We welcome Siri and Torkil to the NorCore team, and hope they have an interesting and productive stay in Brussels
